Democrat Alabama State Rep. John Rogers made horrifying remarks on the floor of the Alabama House of Representatives on Tuesday about abortion, saying: “Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later.”

Rogers remarks came as the Republican-controlled Alabama House voted overwhelmingly — 74-3 — to outlaw nearly all abortion in the state.

“Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later,” Rogers said. “You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later.”

“Some parents can’t handle a child with problems,” Rogers continued, according to a local media report. “It could be retarded. It might have no arms and no legs.”

“Supporters said the bill is intentionally designed to conflict with the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationally, hoping to spark court cases that might prompt the justices to revisit Roe,” Fox News reported. “The bill contains an exemption for situations in which there is a serious risk to the mother’s health, but not for rape and incest.”

“The heart of this bill is to confront a decision that was made by the courts in 1973 that said the baby in a womb is not a person,” Alabama State Rep. Terri Collins (R) said.

Rogers’ shocking remarks are even more inflammatory than remarks made in January by Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who endorsed infanticide:

This is why decisions such as this should be made by providers, physicians, and the mothers and fathers that are involved. When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of the mother, with the consent of physicians, more than one physician by the way, and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus which is non-viable. So in this particular example, if the mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if this is what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physician and the mother.

“This is pure infanticide. It’s also an argument for eugenic murder (see his comments about deformities),” Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro wrote at the time. “Northam is specifically talking about delivering an infant aliveand then asking the mother whether the infant should live or not. This is not an argument about the morning-after pill. It’s not an argument over whether a fetus feels pain. This is a statement that a fully-formed infant, born alive, ought to be murdered if the mother says the infant ought to be murdered.”

“This is pure evil,” Shapiro added. “And yet this is the position of Democrats across the country. Northam was speaking about a bill proposed by Virginia House member Kathy Tran, which would legalize abortion up to birth. Tran had explained just yesterday that a woman should be able to opt for abortion as she is dilating for birth.”
