Robert Oscar Lopez (born 1971) is an academic and an influential figure in the Culture Wars in the United States. He is Professor of Humanities at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was raised by his lesbian mother with the help of her female partner. When he was 28 years old, he met his wife and soon after became a Christian. He is of Puerto Rican descent and is also the descendant of African slaves.
Lopez graduated from Yale University in 1993, where he received a bachelor of arts degree. He received a master's degree in classics from the University of Buffalo in 2007. He holds a PhD from New York State University, Buffalo.
